Lethbridge and District Pro-Life Association

Proclaiming the inherent value of human life, from conception to natural death.

Focused on the Lethbridge region, we educate, equip, encourage, and run Elsie’s House, a maternity home for pregnant women and new moms.

What we do

How we stand for life

Our work grows from four branches: educate, equip, encourage, and Elsie’s House.

Branch 1

Educate

Educating those who are unaware of the pro-life message on the dignity of human life through one and two-way interaction.

  • Advertising campaigns
  • Presentations
  • Social media
  • Graphic image displays with the Abortion Awareness Project (Choice Chains, door-knocking)
Branch 2

Equip

Engaging individuals in the pro-life message, equipping them to join our cause, and empowering them to participate in our mission.

  • Training and resources on abortion and euthanasia
  • Sending members to conferences for training
  • Scholarships for pro-life youth
  • Supporting post-secondary campus outreach in Lethbridge, including National Campus Life Network
Branch 3

Encourage

We strive to give people in crisis an opportunity to heal and move forward in life.

  • Healing through counselling
  • Cemetery monuments: places to mourn and remember children lost before birth
  • Daycare registrations for parents who are going to school
Branch 4

Elsie’s House

Temporary housing and supportive services for pregnant women and new mothers who are facing challenging circumstances.

  • A safe, stable and nurturing environment
  • Required classes, counselling sessions and meetings
  • Support, encouragement and community for a brighter future

In our community

We care for our community by…

  • Working with the Knights of Columbus to provide a place of mourning for the preborn at the cemeteries in Lethbridge
  • Providing multiple scholarships to students going on to post-secondary education
  • Covering the registration costs of post-secondary students who need to access certain daycares
  • Providing schools and homeschooled families with education resources
  • Gifting agencies who care for mothers and babies needed supplies, such as diapers and wipes
  • Supporting food banks and school clubs
  • Running Elsie’s House, a maternity home for pregnant women and new moms who find themselves in challenging life circumstances
